Early Tuesday morning, the Francis Scott Key Bridge along I-695 in Maryland collapsed into the Baltimore harbor. The incident occurred when a cargo ship collided with a support beam, causing the bridge to break and fall into the water.
The Maryland Transportation Authority quickly responded to the situation, announcing on social media that all lanes on the bridge are closed in both directions. Traffic is currently being detoured as authorities work to assess the damage and plan for repairs.
