Travellers have been issued a warning about mass strike action that is currently taking place in France.
It comes after the country's president, Emmanuel Macron, plans to increase the age of retirement. Union members across the country have taken part in demonstrations causing disruption to travel and transport.
The BBC has reported that there are as little as one in 10 services operating and stated that the Paris subway is operating on a "skeleton service".
The latest advice from the UK Government reads: "Several unions have called for cross-sector strike action and demonstrations on Thursday, January 19.
"This may lead to disruption to services. Please check the latest advice with operators before travelling, avoid demonstrations and follow the advice of local authorities."
The Local has reported that unions say this will be the "first day" of mobilisation in response to the pension plans.
As well as disrupted travel, The Eiffel Tower in Paris has been closed to visitors as a result of the industrial action, according to CNN.
This comes as Turkey has also seen updated travel advice as tourists will now need permission to enter certain areas.
Mount Ararat, in Ağrı province, is a special military zone, and access permission must be obtained from the Doğubayazıt Government Office, along with payment of a fee in the local Governor’s Office.
