A furious Olivier Giroud could not hide his frustration after being substituted in the first half of France's World Cup final against Argentina as he launched a water bottle to the ground and kicked the dugout.
Argentina shot out of the traps in the biggest game of them all, flying into a 2-0 lead thanks to a Lionel Messi penalty and a wonderful goal which was finished off by Angel Di Maria.
France, bidding to defend their World Cup crown, looked shell-shocked and way off the pace of the game. The sluggish start prompted boss Didier Deschamps to ring changes before the half-time break.

Giroud has been mightily impressive for France in the tournament, however there was doubt over whether he would start the final after he received a knock in the semi-final against Morocco. He failed to make much of an impact in the first 40 minutes against Argentina on Sunday and Deschamps opted to take one of his dangermen off.
Giroud trudged off in the 41st minute, along with fellow forward Ousmane Dembele, and was replaced by Marcus Thuram. He made a beeline for the dugout, where he couldn't help but vent his anger.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea frontman picked up a water bottle and threw it in anger towards the floor, before he turned to the dugout and appeared to kick it in a moment of rage. He then sat down and let out an almighty yell as he would be forced to watch the final 50 minutes, at least, from the substitutes' bench.
