The government of French Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, has been meeting for the first time. The newly appointed Minister for Solidarity, Autonomy and Disabled People, Damien Abad, has been accused of raping two women – accusations he rejects.

In a statement on Sunday, the 42-year-old said he contested the accusations – published late Saturday by the news site Mediapart – “with the greatest force”.
