Frail Glasgow OAPs blast ‘disgraceful’ three-hour Covid vaccine queue after pair left ‘in agony’ while waiting

An elderly Glasgow couple have slammed NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, after they had to wait for almost three hours to get their Covid and flu vaccines - despite both having health issues.

Andrew and Lauren Wigton, from Riddrie, were told to be at the Glasgow Club in Auchinlead Road, Easterhouse, on September 23 and were given specific appointment times. Despite this, the couple had to stand in a slow moving queue.

Andrew, 77, suffers from diabetes and was ‘shaking’ by the time he left the hall due to not eating. Lauren, 74, was left in agony and exhausted due to her spinal problems and fibromyalgia - which causes fatigue and muscular problems.
