Fox Sports Reportedly Taking Alex Rodriguez From ESPN Broadcast With Exclusive Deal

Fox Sports - (FOXA) -) is taking a big swing on A-Rod.

The three-time MLB American League MVP is close to signing a contract extension to continue as an analyst with Fox Sports for MLB games, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.

The deal has yet to be finalized and the terms were not yet made clear, but the report said that it’s expected to be the most lucrative deal for an MLB analyst and for more than three years.

Rodriguez, who is also currently working as a broadcaster for ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” alternative broadcast, would work exclusively with Fox Sports under this new deal. He joined Disney's (DIS) -) ESPN in 2018, three years after he had started making sporadic appearances for Fox Sports.

He also has other ventures in business as the head of the A-Rod Corp investment firm. He’s also a part owner of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves.

More Fox Sports/ESPN:

Fox has looked at big name sporting legends like A-Rod to bolster its broadcasting roster. The 14-time All-Star is part of Fox’s MLB studio team with Kevin Burkhardt and other former MLB superstars David Ortiz and Derek Jeter. Fox is also expected to have Tom Brady join the fold next year, and already has his former teammate Rob Gronkowski behind the desk.
