FOX Sports broadcasters Joe Davis, Daryl Johnston, and Pam Oliver are being subjected to even more of Derek Carr’s offense. They’re on the call again for Week 13’s New Orleans Saints game after hosting last week’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
It wasn’t an easy game to watch, full of disappointing Saints drives ending without touchdowns and injuries to key players. Hopefully their next assignment will be more entertaining. The Detroit Lions (8-3) will visit the Saints (5-6) on Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Caesars Superdome with kickoff scheduled for Noon CT/1 p.m. ET. It’ll be interesting to see how Davis, Johnson, and Oliver’s perspectives are influenced by having covered the Saints so recently.
The Saints’ season will not be over with a loss, but they can’t afford to drop many more games. With the wild card race shaping up without them, New Orleans’ playoff hopes rest on winning the NFC South, and an upset against Detroit would go a long way to building confidence in their ability to go the distance. Carr must play at a higher level and guide the offense into the end zone after coming up short on five trips into the red zone a week ago.
