A four-year-old girl was killed instantly after construction material from the third floor of a building fell on her, at HMT Shaatavahana Nagar in Kukatpally police limits on Tuesday.
The girl Sharon Dhithya died on the spot at around 8.40 a.m. when brick and cement portion of an under-construction penthouse fell on her.
Police said the mother-daughter duo was walking on the road to reach their bakery right next to the building. The girl was still on her mother’s shoulder when the incident occurred.
It was learned that the small family moved to Hyderabad from Guntur just three months ago, and had set up a bakery store.
Kukatpally police booked the owner of the building for causing death by negligence. An investigation is underway.
