Four Weddings is making a shock return to TV, with CHannel 4 picking up the show, which proved to be compulsive viewing when it launched nearly 15 years ago.
Originally broadcast on Sky Living, Four Weddings saw brides attend and score each other's ceremonies and receptions, awarding marks for dress, venue, entertainment and food, with some rather uncomfortable scenes as some contestants were rather harsh with their scores or were clearly opting for shady tactics to try and win the prize of a luxury honeymoon.
The big change to the new Channel 4 reboot will be that the star prize will be switched from a holiday to a £50,000 cash prize.
A casting call out has already appeared online HERE, with it reading: "MultiStory Media are looking for brilliant betrothed couples for the returning NEW series of FOUR WEDDINGS.
“Where four couples share their wedding day and opinions for a chance to win a prize of £50,000.
“We’re looking for amazing characters with style and extraordinary plans for their special day who must be getting married between June and September 2023.”
A huge hint was dropped that Four Weddings could be set for a TV comeback earlier this year, when an insider told The Sun : “Producers have seen the success of Married at First Sight and are looking to make Four Weddings a hit with even more drama than the original.
“Everyone loves a wedding show, especially after the success of Don’t Tell The Bride."
As well as featuring members of the public walking down the aisle, Four Weddings also spawned a number of celebrity specials, including one featuring Steps star Faye Tozer marrying husband Michael Smith at Beamish Hall.
