Four tiger cubs rescued near Atmakur forests in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district

TIRUPATI: Four tiger cubs were rescued at the Atmakur forests in Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

Local villagers — who found the cubs abandoned near farmland in the outskirts of Pedda Gummadapuram village in Kothapalli mandal — shifted them to a store room.

Scores of people from nearby villages in Atmakur and Kothapalli mandals rushed to Pedda Gummadapuram village to have a look at the newborn animals.

The forest department personnel shifted them to the Atmakur forest area where they were later on reunited with their mother.

The area has now been brought under surveillance.
