Netflix series You, which follows the deeply troubled life of fictional psychopath Joe Goldberg played by Penn Badgley, is returning to the streaming service for a new season from tomorrow.
The series will be released in two parts, with part one dropping tomorrow on February 9 and part two set for release a month later on March 9. Joe's various identities, acquaintances and sprees of madness mean it can be difficult to recall what went down in the last season.
With that in mind, here's four things that are crucial to remember going into next season. Just beware that this contains spoilers for season three, plus a brief preview from the trailers of what's to come in season four.

Joe and Love caused havoc in suburbia
Season three of You placed Joe in a seemingly content, suburban setting. He was newly married to fellow psychopath Love Quinn, played by Victoria Pedretti, and they had their newborn child called Henry to look after.
It didn't take long though for Joe to become scarily obsessed with other women however. His creepiness towards next door neighbour Natalie was soon put to an end by Love, who murdered her with an axe. Joe and Love proceeded to bury the body in front of their baby.
They frame anti-vaxxer Gil for the murder. Meanwhile, in another messed up turn of events, Love begins an affair with Natalie's son Theo, who in turn becomes obsessed with her.
Joe's obsession with Marienne had devastating consequences
Joe had another obsession with local librarian Marienne, who like Joe had a traumatic childhood. She was in a relationship with toxic boyfriend Ryan. As Ryan's terrible behaviour became more obvious and his suspicions of Joe grew, Joe stabbed him to death and framed it as a mugging.
Joe was foreseeing a future where he would leave Love for Marienne. However, Marienne and the local police began to investigate the murder, questioning why a mugger would kill Ryan but steal nothing from him.
The end of Love and abandoning of Henry
Joe indirectly got what he wanted when Love discovered his affair with Marienne. In the midst of a huge row, Joe suggested they should divorce. However, Love then seems to poison Joe at their home, leaves him for dead and informs Marienne that Joe murdered Ryan.
Upon returning to the house, Love discovers that Joe was anticipating Love's reaction, has swapped the pills and has actually poisoned her. As Love sinks into paralysis, Joe leaves his baby Henry with his friend Dante. He then cuts off two of his toes, sets fire to his house and flees, framing the scene to look as though Love killed Joe before taking her own life.
Another new identity for Joe - this time in London
As this new season begins, Joe has adopted another identity to cover his tracks. Moonlighting as Professor Jonathan Moore at a London university, Joe appears to a victim of stalking himself according to the season four trailer.
Another factor putting his new life in jeopardy is the return of Marienne, who now seems fully convinced that Joe killed her partner. Among a new slate of characters, mainly university students and lecturers, it remains to be seen whether other ghosts from Joe's past will be making a reappearance.
