Four things spotted in Man United training as Antony and Diogo Dalot continue to build bond

Manchester United players were working hard on the training pitch at Carrington on Monday ahead of their Europa League clash with Real Sociedad on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag's side secured their fourth successive victory on Sunday afternoon with an impressive victory over Arsenal, thanks to a brace from Marcus Rashford and a debut goal from new signing Antony.

After losing their opening two matches of the new season, United have looked solid in recent weeks and have moved up to fifth in the Premier League table. The club will begin their Europa League campaign later this week when they travel to the Reale Arena to face off against LaLiga side Real Sociedad.

MEN Sport has taken a look at Monday's training session and here is what we spotted.

Antony and Dalot continue to build bond

When United confirmed the signing of Ajax star Antony, supporters were excited to see how quickly the right-winger could develop a relationship with right-back Diogo Dalot. With the Portuguese defender has made a strong start to the season – grabbing his first assist of the season in the win over Southampton – and will now allow the Brazilian attacker to focus on putting the ball in the back of the net.

The pair already seem to be getting on well and were seen chatting with each other during the training session. Given that the two players both speak Portuguese, Dalot will certainly be helping Antony settle in Manchester after his arrival at Old Trafford. It could prove to be an exciting partnership on the right.

Dubravka working hard

The new United shot-stopper Martin Dubravka was spotted making saves at Carrington. After signing on a season-long loan from Newcastle United, the Slovakian will be keen to push first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea for the starting position, and is likely to feature in the domestic cup games later in the year.

The goalkeeper made 130 appearances for Newcastle and he kept a total of 37 clean sheets for the Magpies, also winning the Player of the Year award in the 2019–20 season.

Iqbal and Garnacho feature

While it remains unclear how many youngsters were involved in the session on Monday, two players who definitely took part were Zidane Iqbal and Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho, who has made one appearance for Ten Hag's men so far this season, was not in the squad for the win over the Gunners at the weekend, but made the bench in the three matches before that. Meanwhile, Iqbal has not made the bench in any of United's games so far this season, so will be working hard to try and stake a claim.

Good spirits

Understandably, after winning four games on the spin, the spirts in the United camp appeared to be good. Bruno Fernandes, who grabbed a stunning assist against Mikel Arteta's side, was all smiles during the training session.

Photos were also shared of Jadon Sancho smiling, while Antony seemed to share a joke with new teammates Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia. With two games to come before the end of this week, the Reds have the chance to continue their solid form and build on their run of strong performances.
