Four things spotted in Liverpool training as Darwin Nunez shares new look and Alisson returns

Liverpool's pre-season tour is into its final stage as the 2022/23 season awaits.

Jurgen Klopp's side sent out a strong statement in their recent 5-0 victory over RB Leipzig and will be hoping to produce a similar performance against the German side's sister club, RB Salzburg, on Wednesday.

It can never be too wise to read too much into friendlies, as is ever the case, though any form of victories will be welcomed as far as the Liverpool boss is concerned.

Now at their Austrian training base preparing for next week's contest, here are four things we spotted as the Reds were put through their paces by the first-team coaching staff.

Darwin's evolution

In a number of newly-released photographs from today's session, Darwin Nunez can be seen letting his hair down... quite literally. Since signing for the Reds, the Uruguayan forward has had his hair tied up in a bun but opted for a different approach on this occasion.

Benfica fans will be more familiar with this look, with the 23-year-old preferring this style during his first season with the Eagles before switching things up.

Alisson edges closer

Alisson was forced to sit out the Reds' 5-0 win over RB Leipzig on Thursday evening and Crystal Palace victory, with Adrian filling in for the injured Brazilian. It appears as though the former Roma shot-stopper could be closing in on his return to action, however, having been pictured participating in today's training session with the rest of the first-team.

Despite being back among the group, the 29-year-old did not join in with the other goalkeeper drills, suggesting Liverpool are maintaining their cautious approach regarding his availability.

Providing an update on Alisson's fitness last week, Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: "Ali, he feels a muscle, abdominal. It's nothing serious but, again, we prepare a full season. So he can train but just not like before, so he should not play in the moment. Not normal goalie training but he has a pre-season, so he doesn't lose time."

Thiago goes retro

During the latest images from training, Thiago Alcantara can be seen wearing a remake of the famous adidas Predators boots. The Spanish midfielder is, however, sporting a black and gold edition as opposed to the original black and red design worn by Steven Gerrard.

No stranger to testing out various choices of footwear, Thiago previously wore Nike boots before changing his match attire to adidas.

Robbo up to old tricks

It wouldn't be a Liverpool training session without Andy Roberson on the wind up. The Scottish defender can be seen joking around with midfielder Tyler Morton during what appears to be a sprinting exercise. While the rest of the team are hard at work, Robertson spent his time grabbing Morton by the head and looking to provoke a reaction out of the teenage star.

Pushing the full-back away in one photo, Morton made sure to stand his ground against his team-mate. One photo which suggests this ended only on good terms depicts the pair shaking hands and Liverpool's Academy prospect smiling.
