NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Four Thai teenagers have been arrested for allegedly killing a 35-year-old worker from Myanmar at a garbage disposal site in this northeastern province.
The incident took place near the Thanonchira railway tracks in Muang district on Wednesday evening, said Pol Col Sirichai Srichaipanya, chief of the Muang district police station. The four Thai suspects were aged from 13 to 19 years old.
The victim, identified as Aung Zaw, was found lying in a pool of blood with a stab wound in his chest, as he desperately called for help while holding his bag. The crime scene was a site where local residents dropped their garbage. There was a discarded sofa in the scene.
Pol Col Sirichai said the victim was sent to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The four young male suspects were arrested with a 14-centimetre-long knife used in the crime.
One of the suspects, identified as Papangkorn, 19, reportedly told police that he stabbed the victim. Two 15-year-old boys said they kicked him and a 13-year-old said he hit the man with a helmet.
Pol Col Sirichai said the eldest suspect had been released from prison last month after serving a sentence for theft. The other suspects had no criminal records.
