Four people have been safely retrieved after spending an hour and a half stuck 10 metres in the air at a Gold Coast theme park.
The group was on the Scooby-Doo Coaster at Warner Brothers Movie World at Oxenford — the theme park's scariest ride — when it stopped about 3:30pm on Sunday.
A spokesperson for Movie World said the ride had encountered a technical fault during a minor "guest behaviour incident" that forced it to stop.
It's believed a passenger took off an item of clothing, causing the carriage in the high portion of the ride to jam.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services officers worked with management to retrieve the trapped passengers using a cherry picker.
Other carriages were able to stop at safe removal points, where passengers could disembark safely.
In a statement, Movie World said all guests made it to down without injury.
"The guests on board were completely safe throughout the process and our expert team were in constant communication with them," the statement said.
"The safety and wellbeing of our guests is our highest priority and our team conduct regular training with QFES on these scenarios and we would like to thank them for their assistance."
The operations and maintenance team will carry out internal investigations into the incident.
In April, a 12-year-old boy was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital after suffering significant head injuries on the Looney Tunes carousel ride at Movie World.
The ride was temporarily closed after Village Roadshow Theme Parks confirmed the boy suffered a cut to his head.
