Four new arrivals feature for Rangers in behind-closed-doors friendly

(Image: PA)

Lawrence Shankland made his debut for Rangers in a 1-1 pre-season draw against Kaizer Chiefs.

The match in Spain was part of Derek McInnes' side's pre-season preparations. Shankland was brought on in the 70th minute, but it was Findlay Curtis who scored a late equaliser after the South African side took the lead in the 77th minute.

The fixture was used to build match fitness, with McInnes rotating the squad and fielding different line-ups in each half.

Four summer signings were involved, including Dan Neil, who was given the captain's armband, and Ross McCrorie, who is back for a second spell from Bristol City.

Young goalkeeper Rydnn Maguire started behind a backline of Dujon Sterling, Tuur Rommens, McCrorie, and Ben Godfrey.

Neil was in midfield alongside Tochi Chukwuani, Mohamed Diomande, and Oliver Antman, while Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi led the attack.

Mason Munn, Manny Fernandez, Clinton Nsiala, Nedim Bajrami, and Bojan Miovski were introduced at half-time, with Bajrami hitting the post.

New signing Cammy Devlin wasn't involved as he is still on holiday after international duty with Australia at the World Cup.

This was Rangers' third pre-season outing, following closed-door fixtures against Raith Rovers and Dunfermline.

They will return to Ibrox later this month to face Saint-Etienne and West Ham before starting their Premiership campaign away to Dundee United on July 31.
