A four-month-old baby died after being found unresponsive by his mother, an inquest opening has heard.
Assistant coroner for South Wales Central Dr Sarah-Jane Richards formally opened the inquest into the death of Ace James Kingdom at a hearing in Pontypridd on Thursday.
The brief hearing was told Ace was born on January 16, 2022, reports Wales Online.
The coroner was told the infant's mother, Claire, "woke to find him unresponsive" at home in Gerddi'r Mynydd, Crickhowell, and he was declared dead at home on June 4 this year.
A post-mortem examination carried out by Dr Andrew Bamber on June 10 gave the cause of death as "unascertained."
Dr Richards told the inquest that the court was awaiting further reports and adjourned the hearing to a later date.
