A man suspected of shooting dead three neighbours before turning the gun on himself may have targeted his alleged victims following a row over pigeons, it emerged today.
All four men were pigeon fanciers and kept the birds in cages on land at the crime scene, Portuguese media claimed in early reports following the shooting in the city of Setubal a 40-minute drive south of Lisbon.
The drama happened in an avenue called Avenida Belo Horizonte in an area identified as Bela Vista, around 8am this morning.
