Four men charged after £1.3 million cannabis farm raided in Scottish town

FOUR men have been charged after police discovered more than £1 million worth of cannabis in a Scottish Borders town.

At around 1.40pm on Thursday, July 30, officers executed a warrant at a premises in Dovecote Street, in Hawick.

More than 1600 plants were discovered with an estimated value of at least £1.3m.

The four men, aged 45, 42, 41 and 35, were reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

They appeared at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, July 31.

Chief Inspector David Rourke said: “This was a significant recovery which demonstrates our continued commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“We remain committed to disrupting the sale and supply of illegal drugs in our communities of Hawick.
