Four Londoners set Guinness World Record for 30-hour pickleball marathon

Four Londoners have set a Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Playing Pickleball (doubles).

The game - which combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis - lasted more than 30 hours over two days.

It took place at the pop-up pickleball court in The Crescent in Tower Hill, opposite Tower Suites, a Blue Orchid hotel. The court has been in place since August as part of Sports Fest 2024.

The team was captained by Tony Matharu, founder and Chairman of Central London Alliance CIC, made up over 20,000 organisations from business, hospitality, cultural, tourism, and retail.

He said: “Setting a new Guinness World Record was an opportunity to showcase innovation, resilience and sporting excellence in our great global city.

“It also allowed us to raise awareness and funds for charity. The Summer of Sport events reminded everyone that London is the very best place to live, work and visit.”
