Four from Rajasthan held for 10 burglaries in Rajkot

RAJKOT: The Rajkot crime branch have arrested four persons for their involvement in committing 10 burglaries in the city.

Strangely, the gang members would even defecate inside the showrooms after committing thefts and tamper with women mannequins at garment shops.

The four have been identified as Rakesh Dodhiyar, Arun Dodhiyar, Kailash Mayda and Khaturam Dodhiyar, all in their 30s. Based on technical surveillance and specific information, the police arrested them from Banswara district in Rajasthan where they belong. They all had come to Rajkot and were engaged as labourers at construction sites.

They used to target shops and showrooms near their construction sites. They would also do recce of the showrooms during the day. They have confessed to have broken into 10 shops and showrooms in Rajkot in three months and stolen cash and valuables worth Rs 11 lakh.

The police found this gang from the CCTV footage and mobile locations during the thefts. The police got the specific information from their informers that these people belonged to Banswara in Rajasthan and they informed the local police there.

While the crime branch found these four accused, they could not arrest another three. The police also could not recover the stolen cash and valuables as the accused had used them all.
