With the cost of living crisis still affecting the lives of many, people are trying to find ways around having to put their heating on to keep their costs down. So we've looked at some ways you can keep warm without heating.
The first is an obvious choice - layering up. When you’re sitting down in the evening or working from home during the day, you can get chilly because you’re not moving around.
So instead of putting the heating on, put another layer or two on. If you have an Oodie or a blanket, get wrapped up in them.

Next up is a hot water bottle. If you want to warm your bed up before you go up, place a hot water bottle under the covers and it warms the bed without needing to put the heating on. Or if you’re sitting around during the day this is the perfect item to bring you instant warmth if you’re cold.
The third way to keep the house warmer is to get draft excluders for doors and windows. Older houses tend to not hold heat as well and have more places where air can get in. To tackle this, you can get little draft excluder tape to go around windows or draft excluders in front of your doors.
For the final tip you will need to pay a bit of money to get it so may not be to everyone’s taste, but electric blankets are making a comeback. They have been found to be one of the most cost-effective ways to keep warm.
Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has previously said that a cheap heated blanket costs just 3p to run per hour. Other reports have suggested it costs around 10p. Either way this is a very cost effective way to keep warm this winter.
