A stolen car was wrecked in a major crash in Heywood on Sunday (January 29). The white Volkswagen Scirocco was ploughed into a lamppost by the driver before four occupants quickly fled on foot.
Police who attended the scene later traced the four suspects and arrested them on suspicion of burglary. They remain in custody to be questioned.
The vehicle has since been recovered from the scene and will be examined by forensics officers as part of an ongoing investigation into the matter.
