The family of a man who has been missing since Father's Day have issued an emotional plea for information as police probe the suspicious disappearance.
Investigators have released an image of a silver 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Daniel Copeland, 40, was likely in with another person at Wooli, on the NSW north coast, when he went missing.
He was last seen on the afternoon of September 3 at Maclean, near Grafton, but police believe he was travelling in the car the next day.
Acting Detective Inspector Mark Rogers said police had spoken to numerous witnesses and investigators held serious concerns for Mr Copeland's welfare, suspecting foul play was involved in his disappearance.
"Our investigations have led us to believe that Daniel did not travel to Wooli alone," he said.
Mr Copeland's father Mark said his son's disappearance was "sudden and complete".
"He's got a huge work ethic and his employer, all of us, we're all just completely baffled," he said.
"He vanished with just the clothes on his back and the money in his pocket and his phone.
"We just need to locate him. Whether the news is good or bad, we just want to find him."
Mr Copeland was last seen wearing North Queensland Cowboys football shorts, a green shirt and a black hoodie and is described as having a stocky build with a blonde mohawk.
A GoFundMe page has been created by his sister Rebecca, who wrote her brother was picked up by the mystery car on Father's Day afternoon.
"'I'm so afraid I won't ever get to speak to my brother again or be part of the craziness and fun that is Dan," she wrote.
Police have scoured the local area and used helicopters to search bushland, which is dense and inaccessible in many places.
