Foster carer for animals Jaqueline Fraser Wade treated tumour with butter and sugar

A foster carer for pets who treated a tumour with butter and sugar has been banned from keeping animals - after two cats were put to sleep. Jaqueline Fraser Wade, 45, was fostering five dogs for a charity in Wales, Pointers in Need, and also had seven cats.

Neighbours called the Scottish SPCA in June 2022 complaining about the smell of urine, and animal welfare chiefs found the home in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, covered in waste. Wade claimed to have been given one home check since 2020, and the house was deemed to be one of the worst environments ever seen by an SSPCA inspector.

Two cats, Captain Jack and Davros, were euthanised due to the severity of their conditions. Two 10-year-old Pointers were rescued, along with two six year olds and a seven year old.
