Fortnite’s delightfully chaotic new update brings Fall Guys, Tesla Cybertrucks and a set of fiery Rocket Racing tracks to the multiplayer game.
After undergoing some brief downtime this morning to get the update (version 30.30) ready, Fortnite came back online just before noon with a trove of new content.
Fall Guys mini-games are coming soon
However, the biggest new addition to the game from a gameplay perspective won’t be available for a couple of weeks. As promised, Epic is now allowing users to make their own obstacle courses based on the studio’s bouncy battle royale platformer, Fall Guys.
Creative types can play around with the game’s candy-coloured assets and animations already before publishing their creations for everyone to try from August 6 (in the next update, v30.40).
For players, the Fall Guys obstacle courses will be available as Islands on the game’s Discover menu, which is already crammed full of user-generated mini-games. Epic is promising to highlight the best ones in their own row, which should make them easier to find.
If you’ve never played Fall Guys, prepare to compete with others in a gauntlet of slapstick challenges (think Total Wipeout with jelly beans, and you’re almost there). You’ll even be turned into a Minion-style “bean” when you enter a Fall Guys game on Fortnite, as long as you’re playing as a supported character.
Here are all the other major new additions to Fortnite in the v30.30 update.
How to get the Tesla Cybertruck for free
Epic teased the Cybertruck on its socials on Monday, and now it’s delivered the Tesla EV.
You can snag it for free by completing all nine sub-quests in the new Summer Road Trip Quest by August 6. They mainly involve getting XP solo or with your party on user-made Islands and Fortnite’s four main modes (Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival).
Or, you could just wait and buy the Cybertruck bundle, which also includes five decals and Cyber Wheels when it’s added to the shop in the next update on August 6.
Best of all, the new quests overlap with Epic’s Rocket League game, meaning whatever you unlock will be available on both titles.
Wolverine and Deadpool are coming to the shop
Every Fortnite update brings more goodies to the in-game shop and this time is no different.
You can currently choose from several new Adidas skins, featuring the brand’s famous three stripes, for 1,500 V-Bucks each.

Leakers have also revealed the Wolverine and Deadpool bundles they claim will be in the shop this week to coincide with the release of the blockbuster movie (aka Deadpool 3). The two anti-heroes should fit right in if the next season of Fortnite truly is a Marvel crossover, as rumours suggest.
Rocket Racing has seven new tracks
It may not be the most popular mode on Fortnite, but Epic is still giving Rocket Racing some love in the new update.
Players can now speed across seven new tracks on the new Inferno Island, with novice, advanced and expert difficulties. When you need a break from competitive races, there’s also a new casual racing playlist featuring random levels that don’t affect your rank – making them ideal for test drives or goofing around with mates.
