Fortnite's upcoming Star Wars collaboration is no secret, but it's bumped the game's regularly scheduled updates out by a week so that the new content goes live on May 2, just in time for May 4.
Last month, before Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 had started, reputable leakers in the community were already giving us a heads up about a crossover on Star Wars Day. Now the annual sci-fi celebration is almost upon us, it looks like the Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration has rejigged the bi-monthly updates so that it goes live next week – on Tuesday, May 2 – instead of today, April 25.
Fortnite update 24.30 was expected to go live today, what with it having been two weeks since update 24.20 rolled out. The title gets regular updates every two weeks, but the latest version of the game hadn't hit the staging servers as of last Friday according to Twitter leaker @ShiinaBR. It's usually ready and raring to go a few days prior to update day, so the absence seemingly confirms the delay to Fortnite update 24.30.
The leaker does specify that the date that that the Star Wars crossover goes live "may differ" so we could see Fortnite update 24.30 roll out on the Tuesday, with the new content following up on Star Wars Day itself – Thursday, May 4.
Fortnite update 24.30 patch notes
In terms of what we can expect for Fortnite update 24.30 patch notes, the Fortnite Trello board offers some insight as always. Epic logs issues it's working on, as well as those that are set to be resolved in future game updates. Based on the current state of the board right now, we can assume the following issues are going to be addressed next week, as they're all marked as being fixed in a future game update:
General
- Some Back Blings do not sit against the back of the Highwire outfit and instead appear to be floating.
Some players using Performance mode on PC or playing on Android may notice that trunks and branches of trees are moving.
The 'Infinite Dab' emote does not loop for hours and hours when performed in the Lobby. This critical issue will be fixed in a future game update ;)
Battle Royale and Zero Build
We're aware of reports that Large Rocks on the Battle Royale Island are not providing as many materials when Harvested compared before v24.20. The team is planning a fix for this in our next game update.
There are a number of issues with fixes that are still in development so we may see these addressed and added to the list for next week.
