David Beckham is joining Fortnite. The football legend confirmed the collaboration on Instagram, captioning a teaser clip “Working on my new Fortnite character… Available very soon.”
Fortnite‘s official X account corroborated the announcement with its own video, showing Beckham walking past a mirror with his in-game skin reflected back at him.
When does the David Beckham Fortnite skin release?
The skins are expected to arrive in the Item Shop next week, but Epic Games has not confirmed an official release date yet. With the FIFA World Cup 2026 finals set to play on July 19, a release for the skin on Saturday, July 18, could be likely.
Beckham, who could be seen cheering on the England side in their match against Norway, is expected to also attend the finals, making it a good organic promotion for Fortnite as well.

Two Fortnite skins for Beckham’s two careers
Beckham’s teaser confirmed that he will receive two outfits in the game, rather than the usual one. The first outfit is his classic look, featuring the iconic No. 7 jersey and shorts. The second replaces the kit with a Inter Miami-inspired suit, which is how he is often seen in the MLS and during this year’s World Cup.
In the teaser, Beckham can be heard on the phone saying “two outfits would be great” as he moves past the mirror.

How to get the David Beckham Fortnite skins
Once available, the skins will be purchasable through the Fortnite Item Shop. Consistent with past Icon Series releases, the two outfits could be sold as a bundle or individually.
Other items, such as a back bling (football backpack), could also be included, though no leaks have emerged on the bundle just yet. Pricing for the skin and the potential bundle have not been confirmed yet.

David Beckham’s continued gaming connection
The collaboration with Fortnite follows Beckham’s existing ties with the world of gaming and esports. The footballer previously co-founded Guild Esports, an organization that itself competed in Fortnite. Notably, the team finished third in the 2023 FNCS Global Championship with the duo of Nikola “TruleX” Kruduji and Kristijan “Chico” Ljubičić.
The partnership also places the legendary footballer alongside modern players already featured in the game, including England captain Harry Kane and Argentina’s Lionel Messi. Plus with the immense popularity of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with USA co-hosting the event, the release allows Fortnite to capture the on-going craze even more.
