"Fortnite" has revealed that it is bringing back several iconic skins to the game, focusing on its massive collaborations with Marvel, which will be available in the Item Shop.
'Fortnite' to Bring Back Classic Marvel Skins to Item Shop
Epic Games has confirmed via X that skins from "Fortnite" Chapter 5 Season 4 are coming back to the game, this time landing in the Item Shop rather than a Battle Pass.
That particular season was officially called "Absolute Doom" and stood as the battle royale's last major crossover with the Marvel franchise. The season brought eight new Marvel-themed skins to the game, along with extra outfits, while also reshaping the island with Marvel-inspired locations like Castle Doom, Doomstadt, and The Raft.
The announcement confirmed that the "Absolute Doom" Battle Pass skins are being unvaulted and added to the shop. Epic has not yet confirmed exactly which skins will return first or when they will actually show up, leaving the full rollout somewhat unclear as of press time.
Alongside the returning skins, the "Absolute Doom" season had also introduced new gameplay mechanics tied to the Marvel theme, including a set of War Machine weaponry players could use during matches.

'Fortnite' Battle Pass Exclusivity Policy Change
For a long stretch of the game's history, the only way to obtain a Battle Pass skin was to purchase that specific pass and grind through its tiers. That changed back in August 2024, when Epic Games announced it would begin selling Battle Pass skins in the Item Shop 18 months after they first dropped.
As per GameRant, it has been almost two years since that policy change was announced by Epic Games, and 19 months since "Absolute Doom" first debuted, making it eligible for a return.
The first skin to actually lose its exclusivity under this new system was Captain Phasma, which arrived in the Item Shop back in May to coincide with "Fortnite's" Star Wars-themed May 4 celebrations. That skin had originally only been available through the First Order LEGO Pass from May 2025.
Going by that precedent, the returning "Absolute Doom" skins will likely cost around 1,500 V-Bucks each, with bundles potentially including the accompanying emotes, pickaxes, and gliders, similar to how the Captain Phasma bundle was priced at 2,000 V-Bucks when it launched.
