Fortnite servers typically go offline temporarily before major updates, and the lead-up to Chapter 5 Season 4 was no different. Epic Games temporarily took the game offline to implement the update, allowing players to download and pre-install it in advance. The downtime lasted several hours as the update was rolled out. However, as of 10 am BST, the servers are back online, enabling players to resume gameplay and explore the latest features of Fortnite.
The new season, named Absolute Doom, features a crossover with X-Men and other characters from the Marvel universe. The focus of the crossover is on X-Men 97, a continuation of the 1990s animated series available on Disney+. Notably, Doctor Doom plays a significant role in the Fortnite update. The update introduces four new character skins, including Cyclops and Jubilee, expanding the roster of X-Men characters in the game.
