Fortnite just got another new addition to its already expansive roster of vehicles, the Tesla Cybertruck, which has divided many players on what it could actually do for the game.
The Cybertruck SUV car body can become accessible to players if they finish a series of quests in the game and the first day that players could earn it was July 31, 2024. However, many people took only a short time using it before realizing one fatal flaw.
Fortnite's Cybertruck Addition
This was because the vehicle made players' Nitro Fists unusable for the remainder of the match, which is a pretty significant bug. It also affected the Ship in a Bottle item, which is fortunately not as important of an item in today's meta.
Being unable to use Nitro fists could spell disaster for many players because it is the primary mode of traversal and is also very effective in close-range battles, according to GameSpot.
The bug happens when transforming the standard SUV into a Cybertruck during a round of battle royale.
This would cause players' characters to oddly twitch every time they try to fire off either their Nitro Fists or the Ship in a Bottle. The effect of this will persist until the end of the match.
However, if you see a Cybertruck that was made by someone else, it is apparently safe to use and will not cause the bug to occur. The problem only happens if you are using the Cybertruck as your SUV skin.
Players' Divided Opinions
Another issue that some players have with the new Cybertruck vehicle is that it only has two seats. This means that if you prefer to play in a full squad, two other people will have to sit in its bed, where they are completely exposed for others to target, said VideoGamer.
While the real-life version of the vehicle is electric, the in-game version still uses fuel, despite many players speculating that this wouldn't be the case.
There are not that many players who like seeing the Cybertruck in-game, which makes those who use it a favored target.
Many Epic Games staff also took to social media platforms to share their personal thoughts on the addition of the Cybertruck to Fortnite.
Fortnite Festival producer Kyle Wynn reminded people that voting with their wallet works. He added that sentiment on social media is a tangible factor.
He also said that there are a lot of different people working at companies who each have their own unique opinions on various matters, according to Eurogamer.
