Players of Fortnite can now get refunds for items linked to D4vd after many people raised concerns online. The issue started when new details came out in a criminal case involving the singer. Many players were upset that his items were still in the game. They asked Epic Games to remove everything related to him. In response, Epic has now taken the first step by allowing refunds.
Epic shared this update on April 26 through its official Fortnite Status account. The company said players will be able to use a simple self-service option starting April 28 to get their V-Bucks back. It also said players do not have to wait until then. Anyone who wants a refund right now can contact player support and ask for help. This made many players feel heard, but questions still remain.
Fortnite refunds D4vd cosmetics but removal decision still unclear
The cosmetics linked to D4vd include Jam Tracks like “Locked and Loaded” and “What Are You Waiting For,” along with emotes such as “Feel It” and “Trophy Drop.” These items were part of a special bundle released in April 2025. Even after the backlash began, these items stayed in the game, which made players more upset.
While Epic Games has confirmed refunds, it has not said if these items will be removed completely. Right now, it is not clear if they will disappear from player lockers or just stop showing up in the Item Shop. Epic only said that “a bunch of changes” will come over time, but it did not give full details.
The case involving D4vd is still ongoing. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and his lawyer has said he did not commit the crime. Because of this, Epic may be waiting before making a final decision about the items.
For now, players who feel uncomfortable can get their V-Bucks back easily. But the bigger question is still unanswered. Will Epic remove D4vd from Fortnite completely, or just slowly move away from the collaboration?
