Forntnite Chapter 4 Season 2 launched today, with a range of new skins, maps and crossovers with other legendary video game titles.
Codenamed Fortnite Mega, the latest season will see the game a futuristic makeover, in contrast with the to the medieval tone Epic Games implemented with last season. Fortnite Servers are currently down while the new update is rolled out. Here is a rundown of all the new additions gamers can expect when it has been updated.

Start and run time
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 ended on Wednesday, with the new season being released today once updates to Fortnite's servers are complete. Fortnite seasons tend to last for around 80 days on average, so gamers won't have to wait too long if they are unhappy with the game's latest incarnation.
Battle Pass
A new Fortnite Battle Pass is also on the way for this season, with a range of skills to unlock. There will be skins of Renzo the Destroyer, Imani, Thunder, Mystica, Stray, Highwire, and Mizuki. Mid-way through the season, gamers will also be to unlock Attack on Titan’s protagonist Eren Yeager.
Maps
New Fortnite seasons always come with a new map and look, and this time around is no different. The futuristic, cyberpunk visuals seem to be inspired by Anime shows.
The updated map includes four main locations of Steamy Springs, Kenjutsu Crossing, Knotty Nets, and Mega City. Promotional material has showcased a plethora of neon signs and a vibrant colour scheme.
New features
The aforementioned map will include rails which players can grind on and move around the city. There are also two new vehicles to get around with.
The Victory Crown Rogue Bike is a sports bike while the Nitro Drift is a fast car. There are also a range of new weapons available, including the Kinetic Blade and Havoc Supressed Assault Rifle.
There are also weapons from previous seasons returning, including the Red-Eye Assault Rifle and Chug Cannnon. New Reality Augments will also be added.
This includes Dumpster Driving, where loot will spawn nearby when leaving a hiding place.
