The CEO of shipping company Foremost Group, a business established by her parents, Chao's vehicle reportedly ended up submerged in a pond on the ranch.
According to media reports, the accident occurred when Chao mistakenly put her Tesla Model X into reverse instead of drive. This error led to the vehicle going over an embankment and into the pond. Despite the prompt response of emergency workers, who arrived 24 minutes after being notified, the location of the incident posed accessibility challenges.
