Former TV cop jailed after telling colleagues to bully and assault a child

  • Former police sergeant Paul Street has been sentenced to four years in prison for misconduct in a public office after requesting an intimate video of a female suspect and fostering a toxic workplace culture.
  • Former PC Josh Williams received a 16-month custodial sentence for accessing private images on the suspect's mobile device and sharing them with Street.
  • The Old Bailey heard that Street also instructed colleagues to bully and physically assault a 17-year-old arrestee held in police custody.
  • Presiding Judge Mark Lucraft KC described the men's conduct as appalling and inexplicable, warning that such actions cause profound harm to public confidence in policing.
