Ryan Harris will take his next step up the coaching ladder at South Australia after being appointed as Jason Gillespie's full-time successor for the state job.

Harris was officially confirmed as South Australia's new coach on Tuesday, five months after taking over as an interim following Gillespie's move to Pakistan.
