Former Tennessee commissioner wanted to improve his view. His alleged actions in a state park now have him facing jail and a $25,000 fine

A former Tennessee commissioner of revenue is currently facing serious legal trouble after being accused of illegally cutting down dozens of trees in the Savage Gulf State Park. Charles Trost, a Nashville resident, now finds himself at the center of an investigation involving damaged timber valued at more than $100,000.

According to The US Sun, the incident came to light after park officials discovered a deforested area. According to the report, the trees were allegedly cleared to improve the view from a private home that was under construction near Beersheba Springs. Per News Channel 5, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture eventually got involved, and investigators found that the trees had been cut down and simply abandoned right there on the forest floor.
