Former Strictly Come Dancing star diagnosed with 'uncomfortable' condition after fans notice symptoms

Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan said he was diagnosed with shingles. It came after fans spotted a rash on his holiday photos.

The professional dancer had been on holiday with his family when he fell ill. He was on holiday with his wife Ola and two-month-old daughter Ella in Abu Dhabi. As reported by Birmingham Live, James, 43, told fans he had rushed straight to see a doctor after he returned home. He thanked fans for their advice on the condition.

He said: "Home from an amazing family holiday - straight to doc's and it’s been confirmed I do actually have shingles like most of you suggested. It’s pretty uncomfortable not going to lie but hopefully will start to get better soon…."

He added: "Many of you been asking how it is. Thanks guys." Later he told OK! magazine: "Hopefully, Ella doesn't catch chickenpox from me now. I didn't realise you can have a vaccine for chickenpox now. The doctor said lots of people have it. Ella hasn't had it though.

"I've got it down my right side and back. It came on about five days ago. Every now and then I'd tell Ola, 'It's quite painful you know' and she'd go, 'Oh here we go, it's all about James again! All about his pain…"

The painful condition is an infection, caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox, that causes a painful rash that can take up to four weeks to heal. Your skin can be painful for weeks after the rash has gone, but it usually gets better over time.
