Bobby Madden has explained that 'in terms of refereeing' the disallowed goal for Celtic against St Johnstone was the right outcome.
However, the former referee has explained VAR could not get involved in the situation due to the ball leaving the camera frame for just over a second.
Celtic had a goal disallowed with the assistant referee flagging that the ball was out of play, after the phase of play was complete.
Haissem Hassan has found the net via a deflected shot after Kasper Hogh's header back across goal but the linesman deemed the ball to have been out of play from the initial looping cross.

The ball was floated high to the backpost with the goal line VAR camera not tracking the entirety of the flight path of the ball, and therefore unable to intervene on the on-field decision.
Posting on Instagram, Madden explained: "An interesting situation in the match between St Johnstone and Celtic where this goal was disallowed.
"In line with VAR protocol, the assistant referee delayed his flag until the goal was scored.
"In the exact same way with offside, the assistant should allow the play to develop and then confirm his on-field decision.
"VAR would then review the situation and check if the ball went out of play, they would immediately check the goal line camera and you can see from this footage the ball is actually removed from shot for exactly 1.19 seconds.
"There is no way for VAR to track the balls movement in its entirety. With this in mind, there is no clear evidence that the assistant referee made an error.
"In short, you may believe that the ball left the field of play but no one is better placed than the assistant. He followed protocol and flagged when the play was complete.
"In terms of refereeing, this is the correct outcome."
Pundit and ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton branded the decision "baffling" after Celtic's 1-0 win in Perth.
He posted: "Clean sheet and another big 3 points for Celtic. Frustrating final ball in the first half.
"Got there in the end. Baur neat and tidy with the all important goal.
"Maybe unfortunate not to win by more after a baffling decision by the assistant when he thought the ball went out…"
