Nathan Patterson has revealed the reason behind picking the number three jersey for Everton.
The former Rangers starlet made a big-money to the English Premier League with the Toffees in January as he bids to nail down a first-team spot this season after struggling to break into Frank Lampard's side last term. The Scotland star is currently in the USA on a pre-season tour as he took part in a Q&A with fans on Twitter.
The 20-year-old was asked a wide-range of questions including the excitement over making his EPL debut, whether he had or hadn't tried a deep fried Mars Bar, working under Frank Lampard and much more. But it was the heartwarming reason behind picking his squad number as a tribute to his mum and her birthday that stood out.

Asked about his decison, he said: "It's my mum's birthday.
"And it was also the lowest number I could get."
On boss Lampard he added: "It's brilliant working with someone who's been at the top level for a long time and won a lot of trophies, won the Premier League and the Champions League.
"You're going to learn from working with a top coach like the gaffer so I really enjoy working under him."
On the question posed about deep fried Mars bar, he revealed: "No I've never had a deep fried Mars bar, they don't look that appetising to me but I'll probably try one once in my life."
Patterson managed just one appearance for Everton last season in the FA Cup against Boreham Wood but was withdrawn after just 45 minutes.
He is a key member of Steve Clarke's Scotland squad and has now picked up 10 caps and scored one goal in the crucial World Cup qualifying away win over Moldova in November last year.
