Former Rangers duo complete moves to League One outfit

Two former Rangers kids have joined Derby County.

Charlie Lindsay and Tony Weston have both completed their respective moves to the League One outfit.

The pair left Ibrox upon the end of their contracts in June.

They were tipped for big things at Rangers, but neither managed to make a breakthrough into the first team.

But they have wasted little time in tying up their futures, with both players set to challenge for places in Derby's first team squad in the season ahead, as they aim to earn promotion to the Championship.

However, the players, both 19, will initially play with the club's under-21s.

Lindsay, a Northern Ireland youth international, joined Rangers from Glentoran in 2020.

While Weston moved to Rangers from Blackpool in 2020, with the Light Blues paying £250,000 to land the youngster.

He made his one and only Gers first team appearance in a 3-1 win over Hearts in May 2020.

Weston has loans at Partick Thistle and Cove Rangers last season, but didn't score a single goal in his 31 appearances across both spells.

Meanwhile, Fashion Sakala could be Saudi Arabia-bound after all, according to a report.

The Rangers striker initially rejected advances from the Middle East last week, as he decided to focus on proving his worth at Ibrox.

However, it's said that Saudi Pro-League club Al-Fayha are persisting in their pursuit of the Zambian attacker.
