Motherwell have interviewed Ian Holloway for the vacant manager's role at Fir Park.
The former QPR and Blackpool gaffer is on a three-man shortlist for the role, which The Herald and Times Group report is belived to also include ex-Hibs gaffer Jack Ross and ex-Peterborough manager Grant McCann.
The Steelmen are looking for a successor to Steven Hammell, who was sacked last week following a 3-1 Scottish Cup defeat to Raith Rovers amid a run of 11 games without a win in the Scottish Premiership that left them joint-bottom of the table.
Caretaker boss Stuart Kettlewell guided the side to their first home win since August and firs league triump since October last night, as Motherwell ran out 2-1 winners over St Mirren.
The ex-Ross County gaffer has stated his desire to take the job on a permanent basis if asked, but it appears the Fir Park hierarchy are looking for more experienced candidates.
During a 27-year management career which started way back in 1996 at Bristol Rovers, Holloway has enjoyed a host of roles down south with, most notably, Queen's Park Rangers and Blackpool, who he guided to the top flight of English football in 2009/10 for the first time in over 40 years.
His most recent role came three years ago at Grimsby Town but he resigned from the club following a fall-out with club chairman John Fenty and has been involved in media work since.
Last year he was quoted as saying he would be keen to return to management if a "club around Championship level" came in for him.
