A former pub in Newport has gone up for sale and could be converted into flats. The Angel Inn on West Street in Baneswell has gone on the market for £145,000 and has recently been granted planning in principle for four flats.
The pub, which is one street over from the former home of Le Pub on Caxton Place before its move to High Street, was once a popular haunt in Newport city centre. However, it has changed hands on a number of occasions in recent years and has been closed for some time.
The existing planning application for the pub allows for a mixture of one- and two-bed flats, but it could also be retained as a pub or converted into a restaurant or shop.
