During a retail stop in Philadelphia, Trump was asked if he had finalized his running mate selection, to which he replied affirmatively. When questioned about whether the chosen person is aware of their selection, Trump stated that no one else knows the identity of his pick.
Trump hinted that his running mate will likely be present at the first debate between himself and President Biden, scheduled to take place in Atlanta on Thursday. He mentioned that there would be a significant number of attendees at the event.
The former president revealed that he plans to announce his running mate around the time of the Republican National Convention, which is set to commence on July 15 in Milwaukee.
Trump engaged with reporters during his visit to Tony and Nick's Steaks, a popular cheesesteak establishment in South Philadelphia, before headlining a rally at Temple University. Philadelphia, being the largest city in Pennsylvania, holds significance as a key battleground state.
While Trump is scheduled to attend a campaign fundraiser in New Orleans with House Majority Leader Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, he will remain at Camp David to prepare for the upcoming debate with President Biden on Thursday.
