Former President Donald Trump recently shared an update on his health following the Pennsylvania assassination attempt, stating that the wound on his ear was 'getting much better' and he was now 'down to the small bandages.' During a new interview with Fox News, Trump was seen wearing a beige bandage, which was notably smaller than the white one he had been wearing throughout the GOP convention week.
The interview was recorded in Grand Rapids during a rally and aired on Monday night. Reflecting on the incident, Trump described it as a 'nasty period' and expressed gratitude for his recovery, attributing it to luck or possibly divine intervention.
Recalling the events leading up to the attempt on his life, Trump mentioned that Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson had provided him with a chart on illegal immigration, which he had displayed on screen. Trump credited Johnson and the chart for potentially saving him, as he believes that if he hadn't turned to look at the chart, the outcome could have been much worse.
'He actually gave me the chart. If I didn’t have that chart, I wouldn’t have looked to the right. If I didn’t look to the right, a very bad thing would have happened,' Trump stated. 'I wouldn’t have been at the convention, I can just about guarantee it.'
Trump's remarks shed light on the harrowing experience he faced and the circumstances that played a role in his safety during the assassination attempt. The former president's recovery progress and his reflections on the incident provide insight into the events surrounding the incident and his perspective on the situation.
