Former White House physician Rep. Ronny Jackson recently shared an update on the physical well-being of former President Donald Trump following last weekend's assassination attempt. Jackson stated that Trump is currently 'doing well' and is 'recovering as expected.'
According to Jackson, he visited Trump in Bedminster, New Jersey, late last Saturday to assess his condition and has been providing daily treatment for a wound sustained during the incident.
Details of the Injury
Jackson, who previously served as a physician to both Trump and former President Barack Obama, revealed that Trump was shot in his right ear, narrowly avoiding a potentially fatal injury as the bullet came within a quarter-inch of entering his head. The wound, approximately three-quarters of an inch wide, initially caused significant bleeding and swelling, although no sutures were required.
Recovery and Treatment
As per Jackson's update, the swelling on the wound has subsided, and the healing process has commenced. However, there is still intermittent bleeding due to the high concentration of blood vessels in that area of the ear. Trump underwent a CT scan of his head during the initial evaluations and will undergo further assessments, including a comprehensive hearing exam, as deemed necessary.
Summarizing Trump's current status, Jackson emphasized that the former president is progressing well and recovering as anticipated from the gunshot wound sustained last Saturday. Jackson described the outcome as 'an absolute miracle' considering the severity of the incident.
Additional Information

Notably, Jackson also mentioned that his nephew was present at the Pennsylvania rally where the incident occurred and sustained a minor injury after being grazed by a bullet.
