Former President Barack Obama paid tribute to former President Jimmy Carter, highlighting Carter's embodiment of values such as grace, dignity, justice, and service. Obama expressed his admiration for Carter's commitment to these principles, noting that Carter lived by them rather than just professing them.
Obama mentioned Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia, where Carter has been teaching Sunday school since the 1980s. He acknowledged that the church will feel quieter without Carter's presence but emphasized that his memory will continue to inspire others to follow their better instincts.
