A former Irish footballer was this morning in garda custody in relation to a dangerous driving and drugs incident.
It is understood the former Premier League player was arrested in the Crumlin area of Dublin last night.
The arrest came following a garda chase - and a quantity of suspected cocaine was seized.
The man was in a vehicle that was being pursued by gardai before it was stopped.
He was then subsequently arrested and a quantity of suspected cocaine, estimated to be worth €4,500 was discovered inside the vehicle.
The man was detained in Crumlin Garda Station and released this morning, and a file will be sent to the DPP.
The Garda Press Office have been contacted for comment.
