Plans were submitted to turn a former Merseyside Police station into a pub and restaurant.
The 111-year-old building on Telegraph Road in Heswall has been vacant for several years after Merseyside Police closed stations in Heswall, Hoylake, Moreton, and Birkenhead. Hydes Brewery is now planning to give the building a new lease of life by creating a public house and restaurant, according to planning documents submitted to Wirral Council.
The venture would see a main public bar, wet bar as well as a commercial kitchen. The car park to the right of the building, currently used by Marks and Spencer customers, will be extended to the road to provide an extra 27 spaces.

The garage, store, and rear extensions will be demolished, and a new single-storey kitchen extension built, along with a single-storey rear and side dining extension. There'll be a new porch, and minor external alterations to the well-known building.
If approved the new pub would see 35 full-time members of staff hired and the possibility for live music between 11am and midnight Sunday to Thursday and 11am to 1am from Friday to Saturday.
Walsingham Planning, who applied on behalf of Hydes Brewery said: "The design of spaces has tried wherever possible and practical, to retain the existing building such that the elevations to Telegraph Road are retained in full with only a small set back element being obscured.
"The existing windows will also be retained along this elevation so that the building keeps its character."
