Former New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola did not hold back on Bill Belichick when discussing Tom Brady’s exit from the organization.
Amendola had a successful career in New England. He spent five years with the organization and totaled 2,383 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He was also able to win two Super Bowls with the organization. He signed a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins in the 2018 offseason, before playing for the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans to end his career.
It would seem as if Amendola has had an axe to grind with Belichick for quite some time now, particularly when it comes to contract issues in the past.
He spoke in the Apple TV+ docuseries “The Dynasty” about his feelings regarding Tom Brady leaving the Patriots, as transcribed by the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin, via NESN.com’s Sean T. McGuire.
“I could’ve gotten the kid from Foxborough High School to tell you that you shouldn’t have let Tom Brady go,” said Amendola.
It’s worth noting that Belichick used to mock players for mistakes by comparing them to teenagers at Foxborough High School. This time, however, it was Amendola who got the last laugh.
